10DLC: Registering SMS/MMS Phone Numbers
In 2023, U.S. carriers implemented stricter filtering measures for A2P 10-digit long code SMS and MMS messages sent to recipients in the United States. The measure required for companies to registered telephone numbers under an approved campaign with a brand. Failure to comply with this requirement may have resulted in a complete block of all unregistered A2P 10-digit long code messages sent to the U.S. beginning September 1, 2023.
Effective December 1, 2024, our carriers will be blocking all traffic from unregistered 10DLC numbers. This means any number not associated with an approved 10DLC campaign will be blocked from sending traffic destined for US telephone numbers, regardless of whether it is from individual agents or outbound dialer campaigns.
We encourage all customers to strive for 100% registration. Any customers who have not achieved at least 95% registration by September 1, may be subject to having their unregistered traffic blocked prior to the December 1 cutoff.
If you are using GoTo carriers to send text messages (SMS or MMS) to recipients in the US or Puerto Rico using 10-digital long code (10DLC) phone numbers, please complete the 10DLC registration found within your Contact Center Administration portal.
How to Register for A2P 10DLC |
Phone numbers must be fully registered under an approved campaign with a brand to avoid being blocked. This process can take several weeks, so we strongly encourage you to submit your registrations as soon as possible.

Are Toll Free Numbers Affected?
While 10DLC regulations are only for local phone numbers, there are separate regulations around toll-free phone numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833) that are used to send text messages in the US or Canada. Since early 2024, it has been mandatory to register and verify toll-free numbers to send SMS/MMS through them to prevent outbound traffic from being blocked. To request verification, please complete the Toll-Free Form attached to this article, and attach it to a new support ticket here: https://help.ccpro.goto.com/support/tickets/new or email it to support@ccpro.goto.com
